*I am certain that you have been watching the building grow just south of our parking lot. Well, that is Vista 44. It is being built and will be managed by Beacon Interfaith Housing Collaborative. Beacon has developed over 700 affordable homes across 21 buildings in the Twin Cities metro for low and extremely low-income individuals and families. Vista 44 will be finished this spring and then will be ready to house 50 families coming out of homelessness.

At our December 12 meeting, our guest speaker will be a staff member of Beacon. They will explain how families are chosen to receive an apartment. They tell us of the professional staff that will be on-site to guide the families as they transition from homelessness to having a home. Part of Beacon's staff will connect with counselors at the schools to offer evening help for students who need help.

With St Gabriel's across the street, they will discuss what we can do to welcome the families, help them with their needs, and make them comfortable in their new location. There will also be a question-and-answer session. 

Mark your calendar, this will be a very informative meeting.
