"Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit (vitae spiritualis ianua), and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water and in the word." - Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1213.
Baptisms at St. Gabriel are celebrated on the 2nd weekend of each month after the 4:30 pm and 10:30 am Masses.
Parents presenting infants and children under 7 for Baptism should contact our Baptism coordinators, Deacon Darrel Branch and his wife Chris Branch, by filling out our online form to initiate the process (see button below).
Parents must choose one godfather, one godmother, or one of each. Godparents must be practicing Catholics, at least 16 years of age, and must have already received the sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation in the Catholic Church. A person of another Christian faith may stand as a witness. Each godparent must also complete, sign, and return the printable form below and return it to the parish office no later than two weeks prior to the Baptism.
