Reconciliation

"Those who approach the sacrament of Penance [Reconciliation] obtain pardon from God's mercy for the offense committed against him, and are, at the same time, reconciled with the Church which they have wounded by their sins and which by charity, by example, and by prayer labors for their conversion." - Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1422

First Reconciliation

Children at St. Gabriel typically receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation in December of their second-grade year, and make their First Communion in May (older children are welcome to prepare too!). The preparation events and at-home curriculum are designed to give you and your child a deeper understanding of Reconciliation and Eucharist, and their value in our lives as disciples of Jesus Christ. All children must also be enrolled in a Catholic school or the Elementary Faith Formation program at St. Gabriel during their sacrament year.
