Men of Virtue

“Men of Virtue” is a men's breakfast and talk held every second Friday of the month from 6:30-7:45 am. It is a collaboration of Chesterton Academy and St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church to grow a network of men connected by the desire to follow Christ in His Church and advance in the life of virtue.

January Speaker: Dr. Brandon Wanless

Dr. Brandon Wanless is assistant professor of dogmatic theology at The Saint Paul Seminary of the University of St. Thomas, where he received his M.A. in theology as a lay student in 2015. Dr. Wanless went on for doctoral studies at Ave Maria University in systematic theology, defending his dissertation on the trinitarian theology of St. Thomas Aquinas in 2022. Dr. Wanless is a member of the American Catholic Philosophical Association, the Academy of Catholic Theology, and is a founding member of The Sacra Doctrina Project. He has published scholarly articles in Antiphon, Archa Verbi, Lux Veritatis, Proceedings of the ACPA, Seminary Journal, and Studia Gilsonania. He and his wife Kelsey have been married for twelve years, and they have six children aged 11 to 1 year old.

  • Format
    Breakfast will be served promptly at 6:30 a.m. followed by a talk on the life of virtue by a guest speaker at 7:00 a.m. (including a time of Q & A). Formal dismissal is at 7:30 a.m., however, men are welcome to stay a bit longer to socialize or ask more questions of the presenter.

    Breakfasts will be held at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church, 1310 Mainstreet, Hopkins in the lower-level social hall.
