Middle School

We meet on Wednesday nights, 6:00-7:15pm at the St. John campus, to explore various topics of our faith through both large and small group activities. Each session is engaging and interactive, with opportunities for fun, Catholic teaching, Scripture, discussion, and prayer.

Youth in grades 9-12 are invited to participate in this service opportunity at Mary's Place in Minneapolis.  Mary's Place is a transitional housing complex for families and many of the residents are young children.  We will play with them in their indoor play room and also lead some fun activities and games.  To join us, turn in your permission slip by Feb. 28.  Contact Cindy for more information.

Current 8th - 12th graders are invited to participate in an Urban Immersion Service Retreat this summer.  We will be partnering with several downtown Minneapolis agencies who assist those who are hungry, homeless, and alone.  In the evenings we will discuss and reflect on our activity in light of our Christian faith.  To participate, sign up by Mar. 14 by turning in your permission slip and a $50 deposit.  Contact Cindy for additional information.  We may be doing some fund raising to off-set our final costs.

This dynamic youth conference is for current 8th - 12th graders.  Held at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, this conference has life-changing potential!  The weekend is packed full of the best Catholic youth speakers, awesome praise and worship music, inspiring prayer and sacramental opportunities, small group discussions, and an intense experience of Eucharistic Adoration.  Spots are limited and you must register by Apr. 25 by turning in your permission slip and a $50 deposit.  The total cost is $225; some fundraising may be available to off-set your balance.  Contact Cindy for more information.

Sacramental Preparation

The most intimate encounters we have with Jesus Christ are through the celebration of the sacraments. We work with parents to help prepare their children for these graced moments in which they take a step forward in their discipleship.

First reconciliation and first communion are celebrated when the children are in second grade. There are two (2) parent-child First Reconciliation prep sessions in November to prepare the children for the celebration in December (Sunday, Dec. 3 at 2:30pm). There are four (4) parent-child First Communion prep sessions in April to prepare the children for the celebration in May (Sunday, May 6 at 10:30am). Children must also be attending on-going faith formation (at the parish or a Catholic school). Click for a registration form.

Youth in grades 10 and older are invited to participate in preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation. All youth must be involved in regular, on-going faith formation and also register for Confirmation prep through our Faith Formation program. Click for a registration form.
